SANTO DOMINGO.- The Mixed Commission for National Sports Descaling, headed by the Minister of Sports, Danilo Díaz, announced this Monday that the disciplines of tennis and golf will be able to start from next Thursday July 2 as recreation.
He reported that next Wednesday July 8 will be the reopening of sports activities, for training and physical preparation, where the doors of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center and Parque del Este will open, for those who do their training can return.
“In this first stage of reopening the sport, we will begin with the physical and technical training in the sports that have been authorized to restart, complying with the distancing protocols issued by the Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic,” added Danilo Díaz.
He indicated that the reopening of the different sports and disciplines is accompanied by a COVID-19 Commission, headed by Bernardo Mesa, designated to validate and supervise compliance with the regulations and policies of social distancing in sport.
He stressed that only athletes who are over 15 years old will be able to use the facilities, physical and technical preparation, those who are younger must wait for the second stage of reopening.
Starting tomorrow, June 30, the Ministries of Sports and Public Works will be carrying out a disinfection operation in all sports facilities, so that when the athletes return on July 8 they are in optimal conditions for their training.
