SANTO DOMINGO.-The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) received from the National Energy Commission (CNE), within the framework of the agreement between both institutions, the first donation of equipment to support the expansion of the Pedro Mir Library.
During the delivery of the donation, the rector of the Dominican State Academy, Dr. Emma Polanco Melo, expressed her gratitude to the CNE and stressed that this contribution is of great importance because it will allow air conditioning and guarantee the protection and care of the areas of that building .
Polanco Melo considered that the efficiency, quality and excellence in “the heart and brain of the UASD” will be complemented, because this is where students and teachers (undergraduate and graduate) as well as other academic institutions are nurtured.
For his part, the director of the CNE, Ángel Canó, expressed that it is an honor for the body that represents the power to collaborate so that the First University of Nuevo Nuevo improves the quality of its areas and therefore contributes to the development of the country.
The dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, teacher Amparo Céspedes detailed the equipment received, among which are: fans, monitors, compressors, refrigerants and others; all indispensable to be able to put into practice the airs of the Pedro Mir Library.
During the delivery, the director of Purchases and Supplies of the UASD, Santiago Páez; together with Luis Olivero and Henry Reyes, Financial Director and in charge of Special Projects of the Energy Commission, respectively.
