The Public Ministry requested preventive detention and that the case of six alleged members of a drug trafficking and money laundering network who were arrested for 549 kilograms of cocaine, confiscated in February this year, be declared complex.
According to information offered by the spokesperson and the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, Julieta Tejada, the submission was made last Thursday before the Permanent Attention Office of San Pedro de Macorís, but it was forwarded on the 31st of this month at the request of defense attorneys who asked for time to take cognizance of the Prosecutor’s file.
Among those submitted are Dinno José Pereyra, Jorge Calderón Moreta, alias Toni; Guadalupe De Jesús Estévez, alias Bolívar; Salvador Yuberes De León, alias El Cuñado; Rodolfo Ariel Pacheco Azarte and Jorge Daniel Quintana Esteban. Other people had already been prosecuted for this fact, adding nine arrested so far.
The Attorney General’s Office mentioned that the other defendants are Benito Vidal Inirio Sánchez, Luis Alejandro Rodríguez and Antonio Santana Areche, who are serving preventive detention for their involvement in the case.

He explained that in the course of the investigation, nine addresses were raided in the jurisdictions of the National District, Santo Domingo Oeste, Santo Domingo Norte, Azua de Compostela and Higuey.
In these operations, ten cell phones were confiscated; three shotguns and one pistol, Sturm Ruger brand, P95 series, DC, which lacked legal documents. They also seized four vehicles, including a 2015 BMW model, X6 model, brown color, WBAKV2107F0N19007 chassis; a Lexus brand pipette, chassis JTJBT20X860098581, white, year 2006; a Toyota brand truck, Hilux 4 × 4 model, year 2019, plate L396935, chassis 8AJKB8CD601679829 and a Lexus brand, white, plate No. G312010, year 2014, chassis JTJJM7FX705072447.
At the time of the raids, according to the information disclosed by the investigating body, cash in different currencies was also occupied, as well as different documentation.
