SANTO DOMINGO, R. D.– With the aim of starting bilateral cooperation relations, the executive president of the National Council for Children and Adolescents (Conani), Paula Disla Acosta, held a meeting with deputies from overseas and from the Santo Domingo Este municipality, where topics were exchanged of great interest to Dominican children and adolescents, both in the country and abroad.
The first executive of Conani upon receiving Kenia Bido and Norberto Rodríguez from constituency 1 from abroad, Adelis Olivares from No. 2 and Lily Florentino from 3, as well as Carlos De Jesús, from constituency 2 from Santo Domingo Este, highlighted the importance of the meeting and he predicted that it would be the beginning of a permanent day of bilateral cooperation between the institution he directs and the National Congress.
Disla and the aforementioned deputies agreed to promote the use of at least 5 percent of the income of the municipalities in favor of children and adolescents in their territories, whose funds are invested in coordination with the Conani, highlighting that the municipalities of Jarabacoa and the National District are already giving the final touches to start contributing that percentage. .
The deputies agreed to point out the prevailing concern with the issue of murder of minors, as well as the apparent permissibility of parents and authorities for children to circulate early in the morning to the detriment of their physical and mental training, as well as its safety, giving rise to unfortunate events that are often unknown by the public and that currently social networks have been responsible for disseminating, thus generating fatal statistics.
The foreign deputies undertook to manage laws and resolutions to create the mechanisms of cultural bonding of boys, girls and adolescents, children of Dominicans abroad with the Dominican nation, in such a way as to generate a greater and deep bond of these with the country.
The general coordinator of the Democratic Coalition for National Regeneration USA, Aris Guevara, also participated in this meeting, and managed the significant meeting.
