Santo Domingo.- The National Police arrested 581 people yesterday for circulating on public roads during curfew hours, established by the government to counter increases in Covid-19 infections.
The institution indicated that it brought two people to justice for rebellion against the authorities and 292 were forced to wear masks.
In a statement, they indicated that during the day on Friday, 24 businesses were closed in clear violation at disposal and 334 motorcycles and 40 vehicles were detained.
On July 20, President Danilo Medina declared a state of emergency throughout the national territory for 45 days, due to the coronavirus crisis.
Likewise, it decreed a new curfew for the country in search of reducing the advance of the pandemic.
The provision established a new curfew enforcement schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in the provinces of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Santiago, San Cristóbal, La Vega, Puerto Plata, Duarte, San Pedro de Macorís.
As well as La Romana, San Juan de la Maguana, La Altagracia, Azua, Monsignor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez and María Trinidad Sánchez.
Likewise, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. in the geographical areas such as Espaillat, Peravia, Barahona, Monte Plata, Valverde, Hermanas Mirabal, Monte Cristi, Samaná, Bahoruco, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, San José de Ocoa, Elías Piña, Independencia and Pedernales.
