SANTO DOMINGO.- The administrative minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, warned that the Chamber of Accounts should not be limited to receiving sworn statements of assets from officials, but should also investigate the veracity of the information contained therein, such as the law establishes.
“As an external audit body of the State, the Chamber of Accounts must also follow up on these sworn statements, to be certain of how the assets of each of the officials are growing or decreasing and to ensure that each of them it is being handled with adequate suitability in the administration of public goods, “he explained.
He reported that the commission chaired by the director of Ethics and Transparency, Milagros Ortíz Bosch, and the Minister of Public Administration, Darío Castillo, have provided assistance to officials regarding how to prepare their affidavit, using the tools of the law.
Paliza, who deposited his affidavit of assets yesterday afternoon, invited all other officials to do the same within the period established by Law 311-14.
“This is the third affidavit that I have deposited. I did one as a deputy, another as a Senator and now as an administrative minister of the Presidency, and it is hanging there so that the whole country can know it ”, he emphasized.
