SANTO DOMINGO.-The new National Baseball Commissioner, Junior Noboa, revealed yesterday that he aspires to give back to that sport the place, success and splendor, both at the local development level and in international events, an objective for which he will be accompanied by representatives of all the institutions that converge around the so-called ‘hobby number one of the Dominicans’.
Noboa made the statement yesterday, after being sworn in yesterday by the Minister of Sports Francisco Camacho, an activity in which he was accompanied by a large group of figures, friends and representatives of entities that have to do with the Dominican baseball industry.
Camacho assured that with Noboa at the helm, Dominican baseball will regain all its brilliance and splendor, bringing great achievements to the Dominican Republic, both at the Olympic level and in the World Classic.
Among the institutions with which he will work, Noboa cited the National Federation of Professional Baseball Players (Fenapepro), Association of Independent Scouts, Dominican Baseball League (Lidom), Caribbean Baseball Commission, MLB Operations Office for Latin America .
“From this position I will try to do everything humanly possible to give back to the country all that it has given me, and to be able to help professional baseball move towards the role of consolidation, success and development that we all hope for”, the former professional player emphasized.
Junior said that “we are going to integrate a group of men linked to baseball to be part of our staff, including several Major League Baseball players, working to achieve the common goal,” he said.
“I aspire to also work hand in hand with the Federation in the Olympic part so that we can gather the best possible talent for the national team that goes to the Tokyo Games and World Classics.
“Thank God that I have been participating in all the World Classics, both at the level of preparing the team and being part of the coaching staff,” he said. “I hope the same and we only hope to win and repeat that crown that we achieved a couple of years ago.”
