Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported this Saturday that there will be a decrease in rainfall, because the cloud fields associated with Hurricane Isaías begin to move away from the country.
The agency indicated that the entry of an air mass with a lower moisture content will be limiting rainfall significantly over most of the national geography.
However, due to local conditions associated with daytime warming, some showers are not ruled out towards the Northeast, Northwest and Central Cordillera regions especially in the afternoon hours.
For Sunday morning, in the morning hours, good weather conditions will prevail, however, in the afternoon as a result of the approach of a tropical wave, they will be generating cloudy with weak and scattered rainfall towards some provinces of the Northeast, Southeast and Central Cordillera regions. .
Hurricane Isaías was located this morning about 125 kilometers south / southeast of Nassau (Bahamas), its maximum sustained winds are 140 kilometers per hour.
While its hurricane-force winds extend about 55 kilometers from its center and storm winds about 280 kilometers. It is moving northwest at about 19 kilometers per hour, with this movement expected to continue in the next 24 hours.
The Onamet reports on the tropical depression number 10 located about 430 kilometers east of the Cape Verde Islands, has maximum sustained winds at 55 kilometers per hour and is moving north at 15 kilometers per hour. This phenomenon due to its distance and displacement does not represent a danger to the country.
Likewise, it watches over an area of downpours and thunderstorms located about 1,400 kilometers from the arch of the Lesser Antilles with a low possibility, to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
Meteorology maintains a meteorological alert over several provinces for overflowing rivers, streams and ravines.
The provinces on alert are Barahona, Duarte, Bahoruco, San José de Ocoa, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal and La Vega.
