SANTO DOMINGO.– The presidential candidate Luis Abinader assured today that after many years of having been initiated and promises for its completion, the town of Nagua and the northeast region will be able to count on the boardwalk of that city, capital of the María Trinidad Sánchez province.
“I imagine that previously the demand for the construction of this boardwalk was seen only as a claim of Nagua, but it happens that this work and others that complete it, will have a strong impact on the tourist and economic development of the entire Northeast,” he specified.
The economist spoke on the occasion of signing a compromise-agreement with the civil society of Nagua, including the affiliates of the universities, unions of workers and professionals, religious representatives, trade associations and others.
Abinader promised that as soon as the government takes office, won the elections of July 5, in addition to the boardwalk, a sea retaining wall will be erected, a sewage drainage system, remodeling of the municipal market and other works that facilitate transit. in the city.
He stated that the government that will start from August 17 will work the entire northeast coast with an overall vision. “And we are going to turn Nagua, Sánchez, Samaná, El Limón and Las Terrenas into a tourist pole that will rediscover both internal and external tourism, with the criterion that tourism represents economic, social development and harmonious coexistence among people” , said.
