The Fundamento Bíblico Church (IFB), based in Santo Domingo, carried out a day to deliver food boxes to low-income families, impacting different communities in the South West Region of the country.
The simultaneous operations were led by the pastor
Ángel Castillo and a team of volunteers from the IFB, who traveled to the municipalities of Banica, Guayabal and the municipal districts of Los Yareles, Pilón, Majagual, all belonging to the province of Elías Pina, a Dominican border region that continues with arrears, despite official and private efforts.
According to what was reported by Pastor Ángel Castillo, the delivery of food rations was thanks to local and foreign sponsors who constantly support the “works of mercy” that said Christian congregation has been carrying out for more than 20 years.
Ángel Castillo added that the rations were delivered through pastors and evangelical churches in the different areas mentioned. The beneficiary families received kits containing rice, oil, beans, eggs, elbow salami, sardines, milk, coffee, sugar, oatmeal and another, so that 4 people can eat in a single house.
The IFB pastor maintained that the COVID-19 situation has allowed
promote more spaces for unity between the churches of Santo Domingo and the Southwest Region of the country, becoming an opportunity to preach the gospel, bring a message of love and hope in the midst of the pandemic.
